The Deutsche Philharmonie Merck opened the series of events dedicated to the "Year of Germany" in India with a gala concert in Mumbai on September, 23. Afterwards the ensemble gave concerts in six other Indian cities.

The orchestra played music by Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms.
